Data and timing cables

Necessary hardware for connecting data and timing

  • One 24 channel type B fiber MTP/MPO optics cable . If the detector is in vacuum, a fiber feed through needs to be used
  • Multimode to Single mode conversion box
    • image-2023-5-1_11-38-34.png
  • 4 40Gbps SM or MM transceivers for data. Either one or another,
  • 2 MTP/MPO Fiber optics cables
  • 1 40Gbps SM or MM transceiver for timing
  • MTP fiber breakout

The detector will be connected to the MM to SM converter box (input LEAP0) using the 24 channel type B cable. LEAP0 LANE[3:0] and LANE[7:4] ports will be connected to the data acquisition server. LANE[11:9] (namely lane 11) will be connected to the LCLSII timing system.
