Fig 1 shows the smoothed daily COVID-19 confirmed cases and deaths for THe US and the UK. It is seen that currently, the US is lagging about 1 month behind the UK.

Figs 2 shows the % of cases that are the COVID-19 delta variant for the EU+UK and for the US. The two curves are again seen to be separated by about 5 weeks as might be expected if the driving factor in the increase in confirmed cases is the prevalence of the delta variant.
