Add new Server

Below is a checklist for adding a new xrootd server to the Fermi xrootd cluster.

1. add cronjob to update auth-file
2. Start the test xrootd
   1. run the test installation script
   2. activate the release for test
   3. start the test xrootd
3. start the production server
   1. check that the log/core dirs exist
   2. check that the utility scripts (e.g.: for checksum) exists and are executable
   3. activate production version
   4. start xrootd
4. add machine name to host list (/afs/slac/g/glast/applications/xrootd/config/glast)
5. add cronjobs for obtaining server stats (disk space,...)
6. add to Ganglia
7. add Nagios monitoring
