Instructions
Two Linac Upgrade Test-Stands have been setup in Linac Sectors 17 and 18. From these ioc's the users will be able to select CAMAC Control and Monitor from the SLC Micro Control System or from VME and EPICS Control Systems. To do this the should follow the instructions below:
1. Logon onto your own account on the host lcls-dev2. From a production host you will need to make two hops
ssh <username>@lcls-prod02
ssh <username>@lcls-dev2
2. You account must be setup for the LCLS Development Environment. The following instruction will only need to be done once to setup your linux account for LCLS Develpment System. If problems please contact Ken Brobeck at x2558.
cp /afs/slac/g/lcls/tools/script/.bashrc <to your home directory>
From the Linux command line type:
3. Enter the bash shell if by typing bash
4. lclshome&
5. Select the button User Dev Display
6. Select the button Dev Network and IOCs
7. Select button ioc-li17-cv01 for Linac Sector 17 ioc
Select button ioc-li18-cv01 for Linac Sector 18 ioc
8. For SLC control select the button MBCD
9. For EPICS control select the button PSCD
10. Verify the status. If problems occur, rebooting the ioc will return to the default state of MBCD control of CAMAC.
Please note that local control is available from the MBCD/PSCD Interface Chassis which is located in the Alcove rack 2 in each sector. The status of the CAMAC control is shown on the display.
