Steps:

  1. Download latest firmware from aerotech website or from motion google drive (.lode file)
  2. Connect laptop to controller using ethernet
  3. Set up IP on laptop to be on the same subnet as that of the controller
  4. Retrieve parameters and other files from controller filesystem into the laptop from Ensemble Configuration Manager
  5. Disconnect controller from Ensemble Configuration Manager and close program.
  6. Open Ensemble Firmware Loader
  7. Your controller should show up in the controller Info section and should be selected.
  8. Use Browse under Files section to select the desired firmware.
  9. Press program button.
  10. If your firmware is not saved in the usual Ensemble firmware folder, you will see a warning message pop up. Select continue to proceed.
  11. Press Exit once loading is successful. Close program.


Once complete,


  1. Open Ensemble Configuration Manager and connect to the controller.
  2. Retrieve parameters and other files from controller filesystem.
  3. Compare parameters to the saved set from earlier in step 4.
