computer not connecting to RGA:
has this computer connected to this RGA before? if so, here are some first steps
- make sure the ethernet is plugged in at both ends
- restart the computer
- restart the computer again
- restart the computer again
- can you find the RGA's IP address? if yes, jump to the next section
- start wildly fiddling around in the software
- restart the computer again
- start reading manuals
- email MKS for help (local rep: jimmy.clay@mksinst.com)
New Computer + Old RGA:
This section is for connecting used RGA to a new computer.
Process Eye will not automatically recognize a new computer.
- start with connecting an prviously connected computer to the RGA
- Search for RGA's IP address on a previously used computer
- Log in to computer
- Go into 'Process Eye Professional'
- Click on 'Recipe List'
- Click on 'Easy View'
- The RGA connected to computer through ethernet will have a distinct filled in symbol on the left (green circle in pic).
- Retrieve IP address, Located in same row (red circle in pic)
- Search for RGA's IP address on a previously used computer
- connect new computer to RGA
- open process eye
- open the 'connections' menu under the 'instruments' drop-down
- click 'add connection' button
- add the IP address taken from the old computer
- click ok
- check the box (circled in green) that should have appeared in the connections menu
- restart the computer
- hopefully you have the connection available in easyview now
if step 2 doesn't work:
- Log in to 'new' computer
- From 'Start Menu', go into 'Control Panel'
- Select 'View Network Status and Tasks'
- Right click on available ethernet option
- Select 'Properties'
- Will ask for admin account login information (Use -a account)
- Select 'iPV4' option, and click on Properties
- Input a new/relevant IP address
- Example: RGA IP address: 169.254.109.94
- New computer IP address: 169.254.109.90
- 255.255.255.0
- New gateway: 169.254.109.94
- Example: RGA IP address: 169.254.109.94
- Close all control panel windows
- Open Up Process Eye Professional
- Click on 'Recipe List'
- Click on 'Easy View'
- The RGA connected to computer through ethernet will have a distinct filled in symbol to its left.
- If RGA does not connect automatically, will need to click on 'Edit Connection' on EasyView tab
- In the pop-up window you will insert the RGA IP address you retrieved in section 1, from previously used computer.
- Ensure that the RGA 'MKS-....' is checked off
- Double click on RGA that has filled in symbol to the left
- Follow operating instructions for RGA Cart
New RGA
