- Introduction
The SLAC 125-981 Beam Containment System LION Power Supply Chassis is deployed to supply an isolated +250V to Long ION chambers deployed throughout the Beam Containment System. The commissioning of FACET has consumed the only operational spare, and printed circuit board design files critical to the fabrication of new spares have been lost. Additionally, the existing design relies on a number of outmoded design and construction practices.
The effort required to regenerate PCB files based on the existing design would be much better spent redesigning the chassis from the ground up. Such a redesign can be accomplished in roughly the same time frame, with better performance, reliability, and documentation.

This document shall define performance, form-factor, and interfacing requirements for a LION power supply chassis redesign. The intended audience includes the power supply chassis design engineer, Beam Containment system-level engineers, engineering managers, and both internal and external design reviewers.
