TOPICS: 

1) Partha showed his Configuration Application mock-up as done so far. 

Comments and Suggestions for overall application:

  • Add a column displaying current status of devices
  • Do not use 'PV' in the column names
  • Possibly this application should 'monitor' all data from CA and keep tabs up-to-date. Alternatively track all items 'editted' and write back to PVs only those items that were changed. We need to avoid overwriting a PV that someone has changed via an EDM screen
  • Add 'yellow' upper and lower limits columns (do this in all tabs with 'limits')
  • Add 'Feedback' to limit column names: eg. 'Lower Limit' -> 'Feedback Lower Limit'
  • Need to work in the 'ADD' functionality
  • Need names for various functions - a)save config to file (or RDB), b)implement config in Controller IOC, c)read config from a file (or RDB), d)load current config from Controller IOC. 

Comments on Measurement tab:

  • List of names includes attribute eg. BPMS:IN20:221:X, BPMS:IN20:221:Y, BLEN:LI24:886:ARAW 

Comments on Actuators tab:

  • List only the device name, no attribute eg. XCOR:LI21:593:BCTRL -> XCOR:LI21:593
  • Remove columns for Control PV and Readback PV 

Comments on States tab:

  • States are always "chosen", so no chosen column is necessary. Only show states that are possible based on number of 'chosen' Measurement devices
  • NOTE for Controller: the feedback loop controller should calculate ALL possible states, even if it is configured to only 'actuate' on a subset of correctors
  • NOTE for Controller: a feedback loop should rarely be turned OFF, instead it can be put in compute mode where states continue to be calculated. 

Comments on Matrix tab:

  • Maybe we should add an 'import' function where a user can import a matrix from a file. 

2) We discussed Switch and Controller IOCs Purchasing

3) schedule reviews - ran out of time. TBD 

ACTION ITEMS:

Partha - we will continue this little internal review at a later time TBD

Ernest - we need a cost estimate for 10 Controller IOCs (VME + EVR), find the money and prepare a purchase order

Terri - we will upgrade all 2960s to 3750s - ready for purchase order to go out
