We propose to switchover to the new oracle databases sometime during the period April 8-11on Monday April 14. We will perform the following steps

Starting midnight Sunday

1. full backup of glast-oracle01 (to NFS disk) Restore into glast-oracle03

   Starting 8am Monday

2. Shutdown glast applications
3. Shutdown glast-oracle01 database. <b>All glast database access will be lost at this time.</b>
4. Restore into glast-oracle04oracle03
5. Start Brief (20 min) shutdown to make glast-oracle01 a "primary" server (may not be necessary)as primary databse
6. Switch glast-oracle01 to be a DNS alias Make glast-oracle03 physical standby for glast-oracle01oracle03Make
7. Backup glast-oracle04 physical standby for glast-oracle01
8. Shutdown Glast-apps
9. Shutdown glast-oracle01.
10. Make glast-oracle03 primary and change glast-oracle04 to be standby to glast-oracle02
11. Repoint glast-oracle01 to glast-oracle03
    • POINT OF NO RETURN
12. Restart Glast apps

1. oracle03 to NFS disk

   Approximately 8pm Monday

2. glast database access restored. <b>glast application can be restarted.</b>
3. Restore backup to glast-oracle04
4. Bring up glast-oracle04 as physical standby to glast-oracle03

   Tuessday 8am

5. Short DB outage to switch glast-oracle03 to max availability mode
