The following diagram show below shows a basic overview of the servers used in the DRP and S3DF. The DRP and S3DF nodes are all located in the SRCF. The DRP nodes are LCLS only resources and closely located to each other within a few racks. Newer S3DF nodes will be located in the SRCF-II.
The drp-srcf nodes are used for the DRP, interactive nodes (psffb) and data mover (DSS to FFB migrration). The SRCF DRP nodes (including the FFB) are closely located to each other in a few racks. These nodes are These nodes and the FFB storage nodes (drp-srcf-ffb) are connected to via and Infiniband network (IB).
Each of the 16 FFB server (drp-srcf-effbNNN) each has besides an infiniband adapter also a 100Gb ethernet adapter which is connected to the S3DF network which . This allows mounting the FFB on the S3DF interactive, batch and transfer nodes.
