The interactive compute login pools are rebooted on the first Sunday of each month, between 10:00pm - 10:30pm Pacific Time. This facilitates the patching and activation of updated kernels, glibc, and other shared libraries. Periodic reboots to enable security patches are required by SLAC cyber security and DOECyber Security and Department of Energy. The Sunday night monthly reboots are staggered between 10-10:30pm. A 'wall' message is sent to every terminal starting 10 minutes prior to the reboot.
