Feedthrough cable product brief

Cable batch polarity test

This test was inspired by the incorrect polarity cable that we received in multiple batches. It was type B, while in the second purchase it was a mix of type A and type B. The specs on the order do not say anything. in the next order, we need to explicitly state that we want TYPE A (Straight - Not cross) as we are adopting is a standard for couple configuration in the detector.

(Type A, or the straight type, is where the key on the connector is up on one and underneath the other end. However, the fibers run straight across to the other side. Type B, also known as the reversed type, is similar to the Type A polarity, except that the key is on the top side of both of the cables.

Results of testing all cables are as follows

NumberType
3701

A

3696A
3697B
3700B
3698B
3699A
3705B
3219 (First batch cable)B

If a type B cable is used, you need a straight coupler (both keys are on one side).

If a type A cable is used, you need a cross coupler (one key on one side, and the other on the other side).
