Run Manager Summary

System Tests v17r35p23

GlastRelease Tag: rhel4_gcc34opt
Running tests on fell pool (Xeons) to avoid minor processor-related differences

Additional Job Options

// To include the LPM physics list. Default is QGSP_BERT
G4Generator.physics_choice="QGSP_BERT_LPM";

// Flight geometry/alignment calib to match production MC
// systests normally used flight geom w/ calib flavor "ideal"
GlastDetSvc.xmlfile="$(XMLGEODBSXMLPATH)/flight01/flightSegVols.xml";
CalibDataSvc.CalibFlavorList +={"flight01"};
TkrCalibAlg.internalAlignmentCalibFlavor = "flight01";

Not comprehensive, but useful to record any significant job options added for systest run over and above the Gleam defaults.

System Tests Report Summary

Candidate L1 version, v17r35p23, shows some differences in comparison to the previous L1 Proc version, v15r47p12gr21. There is a large separation between these versions and so some changes are expected. The differences between the background runs are more distinctive than the those between the gamma runs. Specifically, there is a shift in the tracker digi multiplicity and a general increase in ACD and CAL digis for background samples.

Many of the most striking differences at the digi level can be tracked to when I started using the LPM updated physics model in the system tests. Compare the ACD and CAL digi plots for the current version against v17r17 (stats page) and v17r17LPM (stats page) GR v17r17LPM Report.

The dramatic shift in the TKR digis comes from the occupancy update that went in at GR v16r1.

The more recent tests now apply the flight01 geometry, but that seems to have a less dramatic impact. See system tests for v17r35p20 (default, ideal calib flavor) and v17r35p20_geom (flight01) to compare.

Changes

Most notable changes may be in the systests/default config to use LPM updates in the physics model and to apply the flight01 geometry.

Loads, but most do not affect digi/recon.
