Overview

EMP measurements, transmission spatial / temporal spectrometer, IFE WP, TCCB changes

Discussion items

TimeItemWhoNotes
Walk in
  • Khaghani, Dimitri
    • We still need to organize a discussion about the EMP measurements we did and their implications for MEC-U diagnostics. Planned for separate meeting to include TID and MEC-U engineers. Consider bringing additional detectors.
    • Recent work at NIF for XRD platform using Icarus cameras. Kalpani as first author
  • Luke B. Fletcher
    • Jerry and Luke have a SACLA beam time to test out a source monitor spectrometer for correcting for spatial and spectral inhomogeneities -   Looking for additional participants
      • Using flat crystals and special samples to spatially broaden FEL beam. Secondary sample diffracts liquid-like, flattening out the wave vector at a specific wave vector
      • Bent crystal will lose the signal in case of non-homogen.
      • Ideally this would be a general implementation at LCLS (just to have a proper source monitor). Current setup is good enough for most applications, but becomes important for eV spectroscopy. Would use zero port.
      • Ichiro is POC- BL2
      • Future application of 2-color pump-probe (secondary goal)
  • Hae Ja Lee  All good
  • Bob Nagler  All good
  • Peregrine McGehee  - nothing for MEC-U science.  Very intrigued
    • (Walk out) Alex is discussing about how to handle production of classified data. This would be a big change for the facility. Data management.

Tasks going on

Luke is leading IFE white paper section on model validation

Luke/Eric Technical note on making sure we can still access the needed scattering angles for collective scattering

Check Jama reviews and do them

Review TCCB draft for changes
  • Beam angle, port spacing
