2019-07-29 Detector Planning Meeting notes

• LDAC now set for Dec. 3-4.
  • Status of 2018 recommendations: 18 closed/complete, 13 in work/on track, 3 defered/rejected (Doc available).
  • NEED:
    • RIXS-CCD acceptance pacakage, analysis of flux limitations
    • 'White paper' on zeo-suppression tradeoffs.
    • Data analysis on ePix prototypes tested in Run 17.
    • Presentation on Jungfau 4M??
      
      
• Hansson: 2d inteview visit next Monday (8/5)...planning meeting canceled.
  
  

• Development Program: had been looking at an overrun, now looking at an underrun of few hundred $k.
  
  • Development options green-lighted:
    • ePixHi-Z cold testing ($70k)
    • Purchase of CZT material from Redlen ($15k)
    • Tixel: Design sparse readout architecture ($100k).
    • ePix: Design shingled high-rate camera ($100k)
    • SXR microwave annealing machine ($60k)
    • Want to add more BUT need to determine that existing work is on track at TID (ePix10k camera manufacture is slow)
      
      
  • Ops spending to consider:
    • ePix dummy bond to Ge to test method and thermal ($70k)
    • ePixS: Build small camera for use in Run 18 ($75k)
    • ePixHR2.5D matrix: Design and fab wafers ($180k)
    • ePix10k 2MV (vacuum) parts: $100k)
    • Interlocks for GSFC x-ray source ($15k)
    • ePix100 additional spare modules ($24k)
    • $3k for metrology of existing ePixBig (FY19)
    • $25k to formally release ePixBig drawings/models in TeamCenter (FY20).

ePix Update:

• • Still working on ReBaseline of ePixHR with transition from Phase III to Phase IV (PEC tmrw).

• VFCCD project approved by PEC, spent $60k last month ..
• TES paper presentations @LTD18, next round of sensors in fab.
• Chase elex update
• MCP/Timepix project funding ~in place, kickoff mtg. when possible.
• Need to conclude the fiber saga.....timing fiber, and whee does the ATCA crate go??
• Status of 'buy' list?

Need RIXS-CCD Acceptance Test Report.

Status:

• RA: Workin got update milestone list.
• Looking at internal temp of airbox and sensor coldplate....agreed that 30C for the hottest pixel is the temp requirement.
• Need to use 700W chiller for JF4M
• BIO done. Ready to anchor legs. Tech not available
• Change request to 15mm central hole
• CXI stage can't handle CSPAD weight, crane overloaded, no obvious plan.
  
  JF is focus for foreseeable.
  Wavefront sensor work with Matt Seaburg.
  
  JF interface document development....where do we want to draw the line? MEC EMP testing CSPAD/ePix Date TBD

• PH: Wiring diagram for Jungfrau
• UXI options?
• Need fewer photons in RIXS SSRL tests.
• EMP testing confusing, CSPAD is shorted to ground....need to break that connection to do a fair comparison to ePix10k for troubleshooting purpose.
• CSPAD Quad given to TID for isolation/testing as next stage.
  Omar says no CDS netwrok with fibers...true?
• RIXS-CCD report can be done by 6/30
  Mike Brown has set up ePix10k and ePix100 on XCS for software development...not done?

• Wave8 for FIM ?? Review conducted....small action list, seems on track.
• Laser giving only 1.7 mW (should be 20mW)...talking to piqoquant about it.
• KZ: Draft RIXS CCD procedure completed.
  ePix10k requires new MPODS, working issue
