Previous Actions:
- James will install MS Project and update the schedule.
- James will check with Hytec regarding SMDS4 micro stepping option.
- Tom will investigate stepping motors to use for the BC1 articulating beamline.
- Bob will e-mail Josh Stein about the details of their beamline motion controls.
- Patrick will determine if a motorized beamline solution is essential for commissioning.
- Patrick will produce a PRD for the BC1 articulating beamline control.

Minutes:
- We reviewed the actions from last time.
- James has installed MS project and will update the schedule.
- He confirmed that the SMDS4 can be used in a micro step mode, and required hardware is being sent for evaluation.
- A manual hardware controller is coming from Hytec.
- Tom has spoke with Leif and motor investigation for BC1 is ongoing.
- There is still no network connection in the Bldg 25 Lab Area. Doug sent another reminder to the SCCS team today.
- James mentioned some problems with test equipment at Hytec, as a result our shipment was delayed until next week.
- We discussed our apprehension regarding a single vendor with no backup
- Doug has looked into other vendors for the motor controllers, including an IP motor controller from Tews
- At this point, we are awaiting the arrival of equipment from Hytec.
- Tom spoke with Leif regarding the BC1 motion.
- He confirmed that the discussion regarding belt drive versus gear drive was speaking to the linkage between the motor and the screw. Tom indicated that a gear drive was preferable to a belt drive.
- We would like to test the BC1 platform with comparable weight loading, to see the required force and motion characteristics firsthand.
- We reviewed the schedule
- Many of the tasks are okay as listed.
- Doug will update software tasks this week.
- James will update the schedule with additional hardware tasks, relating to prototyping and installation, by Thursday.
