This page outlines methods by which one can obtain geographical locations of nodes on a network. This may be interested for the purposes of mapping and or categorization.
GeoIPTools
Provides a web-form based access to the location of a host or router. Output is a decimal.
DNS LOC Records
Provides output in hours, minutes and seconds. In order to convert to decimal, use the fact that it is base 60.
