Dump table: long stage for ePix in/out

The adapter cable to the Newport XPS controller (9-pin DSUB connector): A1 ↔ P1+, A2 ↔ P1-, B1 ↔ P2+, B2 ↔ P2+, the limit switches were tested and connected properly (+End: switch away from motor, -End: switch close to motor; C is connected to GND)

Motor configuration file: current

Test with Newport XPS controller, DRV01 card (https://www.newport.com/p/XPS-DRV01):

ScalingCurrent=3;--- A  (as maximum current is 3A)

PeakCurrentPerPhase=0.4;--- A (the motor didn't sound healthy for higher current; datasheet: 0.85 A/Phase)

StandbyPeakCurrentPerPhase=0.000000000001;--- A

Motor configuration file: movement

  • For the stage we have: 0.1 inches advance per revolution
  • 200 steps per revolution → 0.0127 mm per revolution
  • DisplacementPerFullStep=0.0127;--- units

Load calculation

UTS150PP: 3.8 kg
Aluminum bracket: 0.5'' (thickness) x 4'' (width) x 12'' (total length, both arms of L) → 1kg [0.5 * 4 * 12 * (2.54 cm)^3 * 2.7 gram / (cm^3)]

moving base plate: 50mm x 46.1mm

total travel range: 81.7cm (rough measurement) → 767mm ~ 30.2'' travel range → 768.5 mm according to Newport controller based on datasheet config
