Access to the proper tools

Petacache/SOFI development takes place in Lab 1, which is managed by Owen Saxton.

In order to develop software for the Petacache and SOFI you'll need a host machine which

  • is accessible via ssh from the rest of SLAC,
  • automounts rdsrv100:/nfsexport/{tools,home,package,npa},
  • runs RedHat Enterprise Linux 5, required for the RTEMS 4.9 development tools,
  • sets your home directory to /reg/lab1/home/username when you log in.

The hosts which satisfy these conditions are rddev{101, 102, 105}.slac.stanford.edu. From those machines you'll have access to the command-line development tools you'll need for Virtex 4 after you execute the following command:

source /reg/g/npa/setup/npa.csh
