Matt King Last day | Sebastian | He will be missed
TTC Meeting Next Week | Sebastian | Sebastian, Ryan, James (and Dan) will be away. Nicole in charge
L3B Vacuum Oscillation investigation with Cryogroup | Sebastian | We have been working with the cryo group to turn of heaters for sets of cavities for ~1 day Mainly Sebastian and Ryan involved in this from SC group side. Reduced heat in L3B → longer period of oscillation. We will write down any testing that will done while were away + we will still answer whatsapp messages from cryo
Holiday luncheons | Sebastian | Sign up!
Winter time cards! | Sebastian | Try to fill out and save your winter time cards (not submit)
Andy | Haven't had a change to dig into any current AMRF issues related to SC cavities
R&K visit | Andy | Rick Kelly + Andy will be at R&K (company that makes the SSAs) next week discussing issues with them, including the SSA cards (that cause fan faults?). They are going to ask for a new design.
Compressed air and water | Sebastian+ | They are draining water from pump-pad 5 through 8. Some magnets aren't being drained? SSA's are on, but as long as we don't run real power through them they don't need water. If the fans fails thing will overheat.
SSA/LLRF checks outs at Jan Turn-on | Sebastian | Sebastian asked Andy about getting a list of things to look at during turn on (January) and will try to schedule a block of time for it.
Andy | Tightening up warning tolerances on LO
Phase drifts in HL | Sebastian | Yuantao meeting about the issue but Sebastian and Andy will both miss it (commissioning summary workshop tomorrow) The spec for phase drift on the HLs is a factor of 3 tighter (PRD) to make up for the factor of 3 increase in frequency. So we are likely out of spec. The PRD makes mention that there is supposed to be a bunch length feedback, which is not operable. After some discussion we believe the drift is outside of the tolerance. Original design had a dedicated 3.9 GHz phase reference last. This was dropped and the 1.3 GHz line was 'hastily' used. There could be better implementations. To properly implement from the timing rack would be 10's of thousands for equipment and 10's more for installation. Andy: If the water at the rack is okay we could use it to insulate exposed lines? |
