Purpose
- Goal
- To familiarize LCLS associates and technicians with the XPP mode-change process and the pertinent instrument and beamline features.
- Capabilities
- Proficient bringing up and working XPP EPICS control screens and MKS pressure gauge readouts.
- Proficient in UHV practice and: gate valve operation, EVAC flange operation, ion and turbo pump operation.
- Proficient in safe use of hand tools and be able to safely lift and carry beampipe sections up to 20 kg mass.
- Knowledgeable in the use of ServiceNow ticketing, in directing the Duty Technician to pertinent config-control locks.
- Knowledgeable in the safe use of the hutch drift pipe lifting device and able to correct misalignment and sync errors.
- Knowledgeable in LN Dewar change out, and in the layout and operation of the hutch dry nitrogen system.
