(From the 4/15/10 logbook entry by EKT)
This is the best way to turn the gun on:
While 20-6 modulator is OFF:
- make sure the MPS Shutter is closed.
- Disable ampl and phas LLRF feedbacks and "sending I and Q adjust to PAC" on
the RF GUN page (lclshome)
- Open "RF Gun PAC Destination" and set Q to 0. Set I to 5000 (+/-, doesn't
matter)
- Turn ON Modulator 20-6
- Turn ON rate (make sure MPS shutter is still IN)
- The Wt avg amplitude should be updating and around 4.5 to 5.0 MV.
- Set desired Amp to 4MV.
- Enable local Amplitude feedback ONLY (DO NOT ENABLE "Sending I and Q adjust
to PAC" yet).
- The "New Setpoint" should go to lower limit of the limit setpoint. (for
example, the value in red circle 1 should go to the value in red circle 2). Once this is true, you can ENABLE "Sending I and Q adjust to PAC"
- This ENABLE will ramp the Gun Amplitude to the value in the "Desired Ampl"
box. Please enter 6MV so the gun will be at its nominal amp. value.
