Post-assembly:
- Install display.
- Install stand-offs.
- Insert SFP loopback modules into SFP cages to make sure they fit.
- Glue connectors.
- Put on heat sinks.
Database Entry:
- Place database QR sticker on board and follow instructions on Documentation page.
Electrical tests:
- Download HSIO_C03-xx Power Up.xlsx
- Save (replace xx with board number).
- Download Map for probe locations.
- Run resistance check entering values in excel file.
- If values are okay proceed to voltage check, else put aside for re-work.
- Load FPGA with this HsioPowerOn_00000001.bit file.
- Power board with 12V and 0.5 Amp current limit, check that current limit not reached - should be between 0.2 and 0.3 amps.
- Check voltages and record in the excel file.
- Upload excel file to database page created above (scan QR code to find page).
- If okay proceed to functional test, else put aside for re-work.
HSIO functional test:
- Power up board at 12 V and 1.7 A current limit.
- Attach a Xilinx dongle to J32.
- Run impact.
- Right click on FPGA icon and select "Add BPI/SPI flash".
- The file to download is HsioTest_00000003.mcs .
- Select BPI PROM 28F00AP30.
- Right click on the prom icon and select program.
- After programming you can power down the board and quit impact.
- Install the following test devices on the board:
- Loopback SFP modules in SFP0 and SFP1.
- A loopback QSFP module in QSFP0.
- 2 SMA cables: One between TXP and RXP, one between TXM and RXM.
- 2 header test boards in P2 and P3.
- 1 zone-3 test board.
- The DTM test module.
- The TTC module that belongs to this particular board.
- Attach a USB cable to J30 (GP).
- Power up the board, again at 12 V and 1.7A.
- Bring up the serial connection at 115200 Baud with logging of the output to file.
- Push the COLD-BOOT button on the HSIO and follow the instructions on the screen for testing.
- Perform both the HSIO and the DTM test.
- Once the test finishes successfully, quit the serial connection.
- Upload logfile file to database page created above (scan QR code to find page).
Cosmic adapter board functional test:
In principle you only have download the firmware onto one HSIO which you can then use to test all interface boards.
- Power up board at 12 V and 1.7 A current limit.
- Attach a Xilinx dongle to J32.
- Run impact.
- Right click on FPGA icon and select "Add BPI/SPI flash".
- The file to download is AdapterTest_00000003.mcs
- Select BPI PROM 28F00AP30.
- Right click on the prom icon and select program.
- After programming you can power down the board and quit impact.
- The rest of the procedure has to be done for each adapter board.
- Add a jumper to JP2 and JP5 (two center pins).
- Mount stand-offs.
- Attach the adapter board to the HSIO.
- Attach a USB cable to J30 (GP).
- Power up the board, again at 12 V and 1.7 A.
- Bring up the serial connection at 115200 Baud with logging of the output to file.
- Push the COLD-BOOT button on the HSIO and follow the instructions on the screen for testing.
- Once the test finishes successfully, quit the serial connection.
- Upload logfile file to database page created above (scan QR code to find page).
