Matt writes: wherever the signal goes outside of ymin:ymax that data plus the xpre samples before and xpost samples after will be saved. So, the only data that is excluded/dropped are the samples that are within ymin:ymax and more than xpre samples before and xpost samples after any samples outside of ymin:ymax. A picture:
