If you are going into an extended shutdown, it's worth putting the system into a safe state in case there is a power outage even if there isn't one planned.

Access to FACET-II housing is not allowed when the lights are out except with Area Manager approval (flashlight and a good reason will be required!).

Before Outage

Inform Controls Deputy

Power down vacuum PLC (Currently engineer is Shawn)

Power down servers (Currently Ken Brobeck)

[Email users to let them know access to facet-srv20 and the nas drives won’t be possible for the duration of the outage.]

Close all foreline valves and beamline valves- especially VV3073 which separates the UHV from lesser vacuums.

Turn all turbos OFF (refer to the DPS how to guide as appropriate)

Close all gas bottles

Review ACSW settings - when the power comes back up, the configuration will come back as directed in the expert setting. Recommend it brings back scroll pumps (set to On upon power recovery).

After Outage

Need to check pressures and open foreline valves and turn on turbo pumps

Turn on TCAV ion pumps (one is on the beamline and others are on the waveguide)

Need to initialize and home motors on Newport XPS (not so critical until someone plans on using the motors)

Contact engineers to turn back online the servers and vacuum PLC.
