- To first-order timetool edge-finding will be done in the DAQ where all cores will have access to the latest background image
- For offline reprocessing SlowUpdate will be used for the background image, because this gets "broadcast" by psana to all cores
- ideally this would look like an epics variable so it fit naturally into the psana epics-store
- either way I think this needs work
- If the rate of those background images is too low, we can consider duplicating the background data in every shot (an extra 400MB/s at for a 2048px piranha at 100kHz)
