First Register as a CDMS Collaboration Member
Before requesting Confluence access or a SLAC computing account you must be registered as a member of the collaboration. The registration page is linked here.
Then get the additional accounts you need

How to get a Confluence account
Before requesting a Confluence account, you must be a registered member of the CDMS Collaboration. The registration page is linked here.
Confluence is widely used by the CDMS collaboration, so if you are working on the experiment you need access to Confluence. There are two ways to get access to Confluence: via a SLAC cloud account (described below) or by linking a SLAC computer account to Confluence.
If you do not have a SLAC computer account and don't plan to analyze data:
- Go to this sign-up form
- Sign up for the CDMS group
If you do have a SLAC computer account:
- Send an e-mail to Tina Cartaro or confluence-admin@slac.stanford.edu asking for access to the CDMS group space.
How to register as a SLAC user and get a computer account
You should request a SLAC computing account if you plan to analyze any SuperCDMS data. Your SLAC account will also give you access to Confluence.
Before requesting a SLAC username and account, you must be a registered member of the CDMS Collaboration. The registration page is linked here.
Register with SLUO (SLAC Users Organization)
To register, fill in the form located at https://oraweb4.slac.stanford.edu/apex/epnprod/f?p=134
Make sure to select CDMS under 'Experiment you will be working on.' On the second page, the current reference person is Richard Partridge.
When the registration is complete you will receive a SLAC ID (SID) number that is needed for requesting a computer account.If you would like more information on SLUO, see their page here
- Apply for a SLAC computer account (apply for linux and windows)
Fill, print, sign, scan the computer account request form at http://www2.slac.stanford.edu/comp/slacwide/account/account.html
Send the form to the CDMS computer czar, Concetta (Tina) Cartaro, or the SLAC supervisor, Richard Partridge, to be approved and sent to the SLAC account-services.
If you do not receive feedback within 2-3 working days please contact Tina or Richard.
Follow directions for changing the default password(s) as soon as possible. - Move on to Working with SLAC Computing Systems (confluence password required - see below) to test out your new account.
- Once your accounts are activated you have 30 days to complete Cyber Security Basics course online (windows password required).
Failing to do so will result in the account locking, pending completion of the course. You will also need to take periodic cyber security refresher courses. Accounts that do not stay current with cyber security training will be deactivated.
Computer account request form details
Details of the computer account request form:
- Requestor information (leave blank)
- SID #: This is found in the e-mail confirming creation of your SLUO account (see above)
- New Account Type: If you are an offsite user, you must request a Unix account at a minimum, but a Windows account is strongly advised
- SLAC e-mailbox: If you work primarily at another institution, it would probably be best to select None; you can still receive e-mails at USERNAME@slac.stanford.edu, they will simply be forwarded to your primary e-mail account; otherwise, MS Exchange or Unix should probably be selected on the basis of your preferred e-mail client
- Requested User ID: This can be anything, but generally some combination of your last name and possibly your first name or initial would be best – this will make it easier for other users to identify who you actually are from files that you create or edit
- Authorization (leave blank)
