If maintech changes a motherboard, the mac address changes and BIOS settings are lost. So, we need to:

  • Update mac address in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth1. To edit this file, boot to single-user mode (hit power button, then hit "e" at grub boot menu, and attach "s" to end of grub boot line)
  • Interestingly, on the channel-bonded suncat2 nodes, the mac address doesn't appear in any of the ifcfg* files, so we don't need to do the above, I guess.
  • need to REPROGRAM BIOS SETTINGS as desribed here.
