Overview

The FACET facility of controlled by the legacy VMS control system, with new EPICS controls for some systems.  This is a basic FACET control system physics development guide.

Logging into the FACET control system network

The FACET EPICS control system resides on its own MCC-based network, parallel to and separate from the LCLS network.

I. To log into the FACET network from a linux terminal session:

  1. Your afs unix account must be added to the facet group.  Contact Ken Brobeck (x2558) to set you up.
  2. Log into the mcclogin machine with your afs account:
    1. ssh mcclogin
    2. Then, from mcclogin, log into facet-builder as the fphysics account, for example:
  3. ssh fphysics@mcclogin

II. To log into the FACET network from an OPI in MCC:

  1. Click the ..... icon on the desktop.
