Goal
A jamboree at SLAC to re-introduce the Science Directorates and Computing Division with the goal of creating our technology roadmap and enhancing the sharing of expertise at the Lab.
Planning for the workshop
Strawman Dates: 20-21 June 2011
Location: Kavli Auditorium and various Kavli and ROB meeting rooms
Goals
- get the big picture of where Scientific Computing needs to go
- expose the Directorates and CD to each other's skills and needs
Outcomes
- concepts and templates for computing management plans to be assembled into an overall roadmap
- 2 days
- directorates present their science/computing
- what technologies/tools they envisage needing
- interactive
- plenty of discussion time
- something like posters or booths to draw people together to talk
- keynote lecture (Todd Martinez?)
- meetings in ROB Redwood rooms
- need a poster
- refreshments
- real website?
- registration, name badges?
