Fusion plasmas near surfaces

You make a nice fusion plasma with cluster jets, momentarily matching the conditions inside a Tokamak  for a 10s of TW laser, at a distance of a few mm. In fact the nozzle experiences these ns-long exposures. So it would take of order 1 billion shots to equal 1 second of the inside of a Tokamak. But what question are we really asking?
