3. Check that the scroll pump is on and pumping. This is by penetration 20-12. There isn't a convenient electrical outlet at the moment so there is an extension cable that can be used to plug it into the outlets by 20-11 where the other pumps are. Don't plug it into the "walk up" outlets on racks as those are meant for things that don't draw much current. We've brought down LCLS by using those for pumps before. 

4. Check that Open the manual valve to the scroll pump is open. 

5. Open the drain valve (ON - EPICS control). This will evacuate the system of whatever is in there.

8. Close the manual valve to the scroll pump. The valve will need to be opened to totally evacuated the gas line at the end of the shift or if you need to change gas species. But isn't needed to drain pressure to lower values.

reduce pressure or get into safe state to move the gas jet assembly

  1. Close Fill valve
  2. Check the Picnic Basket (EPS) valve is OpenCheck the scroll pump at pen 20-12 is running and there are no manual valves closed...
  3. Open drain valve. This reduces pressure in the line to 1 psig.
  4. Wait a moment for the line to evacuate. Now it will be safe to move the gas jet assembly.
  5. Close the drain valve

How to shut down after gas jet operation at end of shift or before changing gas species

  1. Close Fill valve
  2. Check the Picnic Basket (EPS) valve is Open
  3. Open drain valve. This reduces pressure in the line to 1 psig.
  4. Check the scroll pump at pen 20-12 is running
  5. Open the manual valve above the scroll pump.
  6. Wait a moment for the line to evacuate. 
  7. Close the drain valve
  8. Close If you are completely shutting down for the end of the experiment, close the Picnic Basket (EPS) valve
  9. Close gas bottle valve
