The interactive compute login pools (rhel6-32, rhel6-64, centos7, fastx) are rebooted on the first Sunday of each month, staggered between 104:00pm 00 AM - 104:30pm 30 AM Pacific Time. This facilitates the patching and activation of updated kernels, glibc, and other shared libraries. Periodic reboots to enable security patches are required by SLAC Cyber Security and Department of Energy. A 'wall' message is sent to every terminal starting 10 minutes prior to the reboot.
