The interactive compute login pools are rebooted on the first Sunday of each month, between 10:00pm - 10:30pm Pacific Time. This is to facilitate facilitates the patching and activation of updated kernels, glibc, and other shared libraries. This is Periodic reboots to enable security patches are required by SLAC cyber security and DOE. The Sunday night monthly reboots are staggered throughout that 30 minute periodbetween 10-10:30pm. A 'wall' message is sent to every terminal starting 10 minutes prior to the reboot.

The iris and flora login pools are rebooted weekly, very early Sunday mornings.
The flora and rhel5-* login pools will be retired in 2020.
