AGENDA

  1. List of deprecated items; get approval for removal.
  2. Updates
         *   (Peter's in-progress ASO2 workbook)
         *   Updates from Ops' ASO2 workbook review on 3.2
  3. Longer-term goals
         *   Consistent guidelines for sign-off
         *   Module format
         *   FACET-II Training
         *   LCLS-II Training.

3.24.20 First Pass Rework Meeting

Needs Approval

  • Removed A-line Operating Techniques
  • Removed FACET items:
    • Decode Hardware Status

    • Decode Software Status

    • Decode secondaries

    • Decode CAMAC Status (CSTA)

    • BPMs --> Create measurement definitions, measure tails with single wire scan displays

    • Wire Scanners --> Run wire loop macro

    • Timing --> TRIGs/TRBRs

  • Operating BPMs
    • Calibrate toroids?
    • Check/adjust BPM timing?
    • BSA line items are covered in 2.3
  • Use CMLOG?

Needs Update

  • Timing Section needs update to current system
  • Update 'LCLS Undulator, Dump, and FEE Operating Techniques' section (can we get a training/lecture from physicist?)
  • Spit Linac and LTU sections, resolve BTH/LTU naming mismatch
  • Update 'Profile Monitors' section. Most line items are deprecated.
  • Update 'Using the ACR Hardware and Software Displays and Control' section. Many items ASO1 or FACET or deprecated.

  • Beam Transport System
    • Add new beamlines (CLTH, HXR/SXR (LTUH/S, UNDH/S, DMPH/S)
    • laser transport optics section rework
  • Add BSY section
    • beam switching (hardware, procedures, PLC junk)
    • 30-BSY
  • Instrumentation and Diagnostics
    • more BPM types
    • photon beam attenuation
    • new photon intensity monitors
    • TCAV and TREX
    • Add new stoppers
  • Update Control System Hardware
  • Update Using Control System to ASO2 level
  • Utilities (rename to Facilities?)
    • Sag/Swell power monitoring
    • PSPS
    • PPS backup battery
  • Make Vacuum system section more trainer-friendly
    • format inconsistent with other sections
    • list specific gauge, pump, etc. types as sub-bullets

Needs More Research

  • 2.1 Pockels Cell (is this actually what we use? should it be replaced?)
  • 2.2 Section is a lot more in depth than others. Should it be broken up? Can we substitute USPAS?
  • 3.2 Power Steering (does this mean Auto steering?)
  • 3.3 What are "timer parameters"? What are "other feedback parameters"?
  • 3.4 What is DSTA?
  • 3.5 What are TMVAs?
  • 3.6 Do we calibrate magnets?
  • 3.7 Buffered data acquisition = BSA or no? Do we adjust BPM timing? Creating measurement definitions (FACET maybe?)?
  • 3.8 Measuring tails?
  • 3.10 What is the CMLOG?
  • 3.11 What is the SDS CUD? What are "special displays"?

Use this workbook to track your progress. You may be trained by any control room operator who is qualified as an ASO-2 or higher. Ask your trainer or supervisor for clarification of anything you don’t understand about this training process or about the training material.Give your completed workbook to your supervisoras part of your ASO-2 qualification assessment.You will be notified when you are qualified as an ASO-2and your training record will be updated.InstructionsTrainee: For all items, reviewthe available documentation that pertains to the subject matter. Next, ask your trainer any questions about the itemslisted.Trainer: After the trainee has demonstrated an understanding of the items at the ASO-2 level, initial the corresponding underlined space.Supervisor: After the trainee has accomplishedall required objectives in this section, complete the corresponding signature blockin each section.Trainee (Print Name):Certification Started
