3. Prepare for internal inspection of the detector by adding further protection to the face of the detector and pushing the bracket arm for easier access to the internal structure.
Note: The face of the detector consists of a thin film of mylar that is easily scratched. A minimum effort of 2 people is highly recommended.
This is done by carefully cutting the zip ties and removing the temporary shielding. The 3 screws going through the face of the detector shielding into the can are removed, as shown in image 1416. The firm shield is placed and secured with 3 in-vacuum screws.
