The interactive compute login pools are rebooted on the first Sunday of the each month, between 10:00pm - 10:30pm Pacific Time. This is to facilitate the patching and activation of updated kernels, glibc, and other shared libraries. This is required by cyber security. The reboots are staggered throughout that 30 minute period. A 'wall' message is sent to every terminal starting 10 minutes prior to the reboot with the actual reboot time..
The iris and flora login pools are rebooted weekly, early Sunday mornings.
