PingER MA
They are ready to start the installation of the PingER MA at Amity. This will be lead by A Sai Sabitha. they need to get the OK from the VC, once they have that they can work with IT to get the appropriate firewall permissions etc. They will need to enable ICMP request and response, traceroute ports (traceroute uses UDP ports 33434 - 33464), and port 80 (for the Apache web server). The host will need a public IPV4 address and the name to be registered in DNS. The host requirements are minimal (it can run on a Raspberry Pi). There is no need to back-up the measured data. It is gathered daily by SLAC and stored in a backed up archive at SLAC. They should keep the measured data for about 30 days in case SLAC fails to gather the data. Information on installing the MA is available starting at: Installation Overview.
Student availability
There are two students at the University of Florida who have US visas and will finish at Florida in May. From there they are free to come directly to SLAC. Most of the other students are BTech students at Amity who will graduate in May. Once we have their names and mutual interest we can start the paper work to get started on invitations.there are also two students at the University of Nepal who graduate in May with a BTech and are interested.
PingER students
The following have written papers on PingER:
...
Les has copies of these three and has reviewed the Android and cluster analysis papers. It would help if he could be provided with a copy in word so he could mark up corrections before it goes to publication via IEEE. These students will be working remotely with Les and Bebo at SLAC between now and May.
