  • When you are done, hit the Continue button to save the connection profile
  • You can hit Connect to start the connection
  • You will be prompted for your username and password. Enter your SLAC's Unix account and hit OK.
  • Click on 'New virtual desktop or custom session'
  • Click 'Create a new GNOME virtual desktop'. You will be logged in after that.
  • To change the size of the NoMachine desktop after logging on the first time: Inside the NoMachine desktop, click on top menu bar System -> Preferences -> Display and then select Resolution dropdown to one that is slightly smaller than the native resolution of the monitor that you are currently using.  Note that if your screen is small, you may have difficulty accessing the window to click "Apply" after making changes to the screen resolution (or you may not see the "Apply" window at all, since it is "off-the-edge". If this happens move your mouse to the lower-right portion of the screen: the screen should move so you can click "Apply".
  • Access menu: Ctrl-Alt-0, or click on upper right corner of the nomachine desktop screen to bring up the nomachine setting screen
  • Click on Display, select 'Resize remote screen'. This will allow the screen resolution to be scaled to the Windows size. So you the screen resolution to change on the fly when you adjust the size of the Nomachine Windows by dragging it.
  • Hit Done, and Done to close the You will also need to drag the one of the corner of the NoMachine window to change size of the desktop.
