call the JLAB help desk at .... to get your temporary password \[good to try it out while
you are on the phone\!\] Login to *login.jlab.org* and then to the scientific computing
farm (*ifarml64*). To be able to use the batch system you'll need to obtain a certificate
by going to  http://scicomp.jlab.org/scicomp . Query your username and then the
link for creating the certificate will appear. If you are not on the jlab network then logon to
jlabl1.jlab.org (or other
 appropriate central system) and start firefox and use that browser
session to get the certificate. When completed, you should have a new file .jlab.scicomp in
your jlab home directory.
