• Log into the host machine and start up an RCE GUI...at CERN:
    • the host machine is:  pddaq-gen03
    • the software lives at: /daq/rce/proto-dune/software/protoDUNE
    • start the gui with:  /daq/rce/proto-dune/software/protoDUNE/rceScripts/rce_talk CERN-100 start_gui
  • From the GUI, hit the HardReset button...this sets everything to a known state

  • Go to the configuration tab, and set the following values:
    • DataDpmEmu>EnableTx>True
    • DataDpmHlsMon>Blowoff>0x1 (or 0x2, this blows off either WIB0 or WIB1...without compression, we can't DMA both at same time)
    • DataDpmTiming>SwFlush>False
    • DataDpmWib>RxPolarity>True
    • If you want to run in emulation mode (e.g. if you don't have a WIB hooked up), also set:
      • DataDpmEmu>Loopback>True
  • Hit the "Write Configuration" button:
  • That's it...you should be receiving data to the DataBuffer...you can tell by going to the "Status" tab...should look something like this:

    • note there is no Tx since we haven't hooked up a receiver from the host PC to the RCE...data is just getting dropped on the floor by the DataBuffer software at this point
    • You can also look at the WIB-RCE-receiver piece (before data gets aggregated/framed/DMAed and send to software side)...should look like this:
