SVT Voltages

Pelle showed an Excel spreadsheet with a list of the voltage and temperature channels to be read by and written to by external EPICS IOC. He explained in details what each channel is.

Bias voltages will be directly controlled from an external EPICS IOC which will talk to the MPOD crates. For the LV on the hybrids, there will be multiplexing done in the SVT DAQ. EPICS will control the master voltage to the FE boards, while the power to the hybrids will be controlled from the SVT DAQ.  The interface between the voltage control software in the DAQ and the external EPICS IOC will be implemented using ChannelAccess server running within the SVT DAQ system.

Hovanes asked about parameters for the voltage channels that are served from the SVT DAQ. The only thing that EPICS needs to have is to have READ/WRITE access to the On/Off binary variables to turn on and off the individual LV channels, READ access to status readback, READ access to voltage and current set-point readbacks, and READ the voltage and current values. Pelle will double check with Ryan about these parameters.

ECAL Voltages

Stepan showed the grouping of the HV channels of the ECAL. The mapping may still change because of the possible issues with the low energy electrons. The plan is to have software that can accommodate small modifications like that.

Hovanes will get the file that was used to produce this map from Nick Nganga or F.-X. He would like to have a GUI that shows the voltage status of individual crystals although multiple (10) crystals are grouped together for a single HV connector.

Need to move a CAEN crate to the PCAL area in EEL building to start development of the IOC application and the HV GUIs.
