Vacuum Box work at SLAC

1

Vacuum test: blank off ports and pump down. Verify vacuum level holds below 10-6 torr. The vacuum chamber comes with a 8"x18" flange seal. Since we are getting two flanges for photon run and electron run, these flanges can be attached at both ends without using the 8"x18" flat plate. Then we can leak test everything at once. Takashi a turbo pump with RGA. Leak checking is extremely reliable and easy with RGA.

2

Cut to the length the rigid part of the cooling lines. Very likely this would be the first action after the vacuum test. Verify cooling line connections.

3

Before the stepper motors, we will need to mount the linear stages and complete the installation with micro-switches and position sensors.

4

Install stepping motors for mechanical integrity and that motion is as planned. Perform the calibration of the individual motion axis, which will happen under vacuum.

5

Check signal feedthroughs that they are shorts where they should be and infinite resistance everywhere else. Verify procedure for connecting cables on the inside and outside of the feed throughs. Is appropriate electrical contact made.

Note

Please be advised, I can only finish the cooling loops once the supports have been built for the manifolds. This means the bottom base plate should be completed first, then the bottom suoort plate...etc........
