Present: Stepan, Maurik, Nathan, Matt, Tim, John, Raphael, Marzio, Raffayel- Tim presented

  • Tim discussed upcoming DOE review on January 18. There is a review page on confluence with preliminary agenda and charge. We discussed who will give the analysis talk. Matt will not be available, Nathan agreed to give the talk.
  • update on hodoscope (Rafo):
Gluing tests started, so far fiber gluing is going well. After few tries and getting help Hakob, some fibers have been successfully glued. Gluing of aluminized Mylar has been tested as well. Was not clear if scintillator weight is enough to keep minimum amount of glue under the mylar and have a thin uniform layer. Proposal was to add some pressure to keep glue thickness to a minimum.
Next, tests with gluing of fibers into PMT adapter will be done. Plan is to complete all tests before holidays.
  • update on SVT (Tim):
There are some positive results on sensors. Vendor diced most of the sensors (3/4, 17 sensors), and found <2% bad channels. Sensors with bad channels still can be used, depends where bad channels are. Edges are bit wider 350 um, may not be a big deal for L1, but may end up with two classes of sensors. Looking to get hep with laser marking to make cleaving easier.
Readout hybrids - small problem noticed one earlier, came back from vendor and look good. Trying to get one of hybrids with chip loaded and tested before end of this week (holidays).
Assembly fixtures came on Friday, have not been tested but look very nice and clean, marked, with certification of cleaning, and with QA sheet.
Rest of mechanics, waiting for the designer to see if we can have everything done by the end of this week.
There was a discussion on SVT configuration for the run, y-min angle. Different configurations under the consideration are not far from each other (15 mrad vs 17.5 mrad) and seems within accuracy of the alignment, may not be worth to make any mechanical changes from the original design, theta_y_min=15 mrad.  Decision was made to let Tim come up with a proposal for L0 and L1 and decide on that.
  • status of pass2 (Rafo):

The pass2 of 10% un-blinded sample started, there is an issue with 20% of jobs, computer center is investigating why some of our jobs are crushing with space limit. Although looking in directory of the job on the node seems there are no large files, our footprint is small. It is possible that some other job on the same node overwrites whole disk. Need to test if the same jobs submitted second time will go through, if that the case, better to run all the files, then relunch  failed ones (20%).
