Minutes

Hybrids
No news, they have not arrived yet.

FE board
Ben showed the first layout attempt from Tung. Good news is that everything seems to fit. There are a bunch of updates needed; making sure that they mezzanine board adapter idea for the power and HV works appropriately and that there are holes placed to make sure that the part where the FPGA sits is not flexed and also to make sure that we are getting a god thermal connection between the components most in need of cooling.

We discussed the cooling and how components that need cooling should Ideally be grouped together. The initial layout have most components grouped and given the tight space constraints it might be hard to improve this. We should provide a list of the components in most need of cooling and circle them on the layout to see how feasible it is to make the mechanical design of the cooling plate. Ben would look into that.

We should also look more into the cooling pads we want to apply between the cold block and the boards to know how close we need to make the cooling plate match the components  height-wise.

Charge injection tests at UCSC
Proceeding, hope fully first tests next week.

Decided that at this point we don't want to readout in time with the injection to make sure we don't slow down the process of getting results.

FEB power

Pelle showed a summary of power estimates together with cross-checks of the voltage drops in the system on some reasonable wire gauges. Using 12 AWG for AVDD+ and 22 AWG for the others seemed reasonable.

Pelle also estimated the power dissipation in the FEB power cables inside the vacuum chamber, see attached file. Pelle will calculate the heat transfer to the edge of the wires and see what temperature drop he gets.

HV wires

The Reynolds wire pumped down fine. Need to pump the Redel as well but need to do another round of cleaning. Pelle will check for a wire from Reynolds with lower spec than 12kV and see if it is a little cheaper.

Budget for power and cabling

Pelle showed the current spending and the budget and while the power supplies where a little more expensive the cabling will be a little cheaper so overall we are good.

NLCTA damage studies

Tim is finalizing the email to the APV25 experts. Expects to send on Monday.

Flange board

Ryan mentioned that the shcematic and layout of the flange board is almost finished as Tung has been working on it in parallel with the FE board. With a few minor fixes (the stand-off between the center pot region needs to be added, 1") it will be ready next week.
