1. Shifts for a Run Extension
We considered how we would staff shifts for a possible run extension May 5-May 19.

We assume we would try to assign people forpossible  shifts, but that no tickets would be purchased until the Lab Management decides to grant the extension. This could happen in 1 week if we're lucky or in 2 weeks if not. An outstanding question is will running be nights/weekends or a contiguous block of days. John and Stepan will ask Rolf and Bob for guidance.

We decided:

1. John will contact subsystem experts and RCs and generate potential shift assignments by next Monday, April 20.

2. John will write HPS explaining the present situation and requesting that institutional representatives let Bryan know what manpower would be available to cover shifts in this period. This must be done soon as well, perhaps by next Wednesday, April 22.

3. Bryan will generate shift assignments from among those able to cover this period. We'll hope to have guidance on the weekends only vs contiguous days issue before this time so that we can staff only shifts that will be needed.

2. Run Plan

Since time is growing very short, we discussed prioritizing the run plan to cover the most essential elements. We agreed that they are:

1. establish "usable" beams to the alcove. "Usable" means SVT protection collimator in place, backgrounds from tails on collimator are manageable, bpms are calibrated and orbit locks are on, chicane on to nominal settings for 1 GeV running.

2. time in SVT and take data with existing trigger

3. analyze data to show tracks and good efficiency in SVT, workable triggers, etc.

4. proceed with further trigger studies, beam stability studies, and SVT commissioning as outlined earlier.

The critical goal for HPS is to demonstrate as soon as possible, and hopefully this weekend, a working SVT. The rest of HPS has
already been shown to work.

Tracks in the SVT will likely be enough input to convince the lab to grant us an extension.

3. Funding for Paris

John and Raphael agreed to extend the period for request for travel assistance to the end of today, Thursday, April 16. Then they will decide on how best to distribute funds.
