The properties of saturated pixels in a cspad are explored below. In this study, the data from experiment cxim7116, run 29 was used.

Pedestal Value versus Pixel Saturation

Pixel saturation values were obtained by finding the max pixel values over multiple events. In the plot below, these values are compared against the pixels' pedestal values. It is clear that most of these saturation values are not the true saturation value. This is understandable since only 25 events were compared and most pixels were not saturated in these events.

Zooming in to the saturated pixels, as shown in the plot below, there appears to be two bands: a low band with a saturation value between 14200 and 14600 and a high band with a saturation value above 14600. Furthermore, pedestal value appears to be inversely proportional to pixel saturation level.

The location of these pixels on the cspad are plotted below. These rings formed were the cause of ice during the experiment.

Both bands overlapped is plotted below. There does not seem to be a clear difference in location for these two bands although there is a clear difference in the pedestal vs. saturation plot above.
