This is a Linux VM pinger.slac.stanford.edu

It is centrally managed. Thus required patches are automatically applied. The machine is scanned and if you are notified that a reboot is required to activate the patches then if you have sudo access you can proceed as follows:

sudo yum -y update 
sudo reboot
