ASTAHOME User Interface
ASTA Controls screens can be launched from a Test Facility host with the shell command 'astahome'.
ASTA elog
To access ASTA Operations log, go the LCLS elog and click on the Logbook filter 'ASTA'.
ASTA Gun Test Facility LLRF Naming Conventions
ASTA Gun Test Facility Controls in the Klystron Test Lab in B044 will closely follow LCLS Naming Nonventions.
The naming convention for the Device types will be similar to the same as LCLS device types.
The GTF will consist of a very small subset of the controls subystems that are currently in the LCLS Injector area.
It may have a very small accelerator structure or dump in the future.
But as of date (18-Nov-2011) only a portion of the first three areas listed in Table 1.10 in the LCLS Naming Conventions page is needed:
Area |
Physical Location |
---|---|
AS01 (=LI00) |
(LCLS: Linac Sector 0) |
AS01 (=LR20) |
(LCLS: Laser Room upstairs) |
AS01 (=IN20) |
(LCLS: Injector) |
AS01 (=LI20-LI30) |
(LCLS: Linac Sectors) |
AS01 (=BSY,LTU,UND) |
(LCLS: BSY, LTU, UND) |
AS01 (=DMP) |
(LCLS: DMP) |
AS01 (=MCC0) |
(LCLS: Main Control Center B005) |
AS01 (=FEE, NEH etc.) |
(LCLS: Experimental Halls in different Buildings) |
AS01 (=SYS0) |
LCLS I System |
To give the same look-and-feel as LCLS user interface, the position prefixes and position codes
will stay the same for all ASTA devices as their counterparts in LCLS.
The position field for itemized control system devices such as IOCs, will have a 4-character
subsystem field, similar to LCLS iocs. The first two characters of
these 4-characters will denote the subsystem as defined in Table 1.12 of the LCLS Naming Conventions.
In both cases, this subsystem prefix is followed by a 2-digit index from 01 through 99.
However, based on feedback from Naming Convention Experts, it has been decided that all the various
iocs will be named as RFXY to keep up with the subsystem names. The difference between LCLS LLRF iocs
and ASTA LLRF iocs are illustrated in table below:
Device |
LCLS subsystem prefix |
ASTA subystem prefix |
---|---|---|
LLRF Master IOC |
RF 00 - 99 |
RF 00 - 09 |
LLRF PAC |
RC 00 - 99 |
RF 10 - 39 |
LLRF PAD |
RD 00 - 99 |
RF 40 - 69 |
LLRF PLL |
RP 00 - 99 |
RF 70 - 79 |
LLRF Diangostics |
FM, etc. 00 - 99 |
RF 80 - 99 |
To distinguish between the various iocs, the ranges for the digits are different.
Example:
The Master IOC in the LCLS RF Hut IOC-IN20-RF01 will become IOC-AS01-RF01.
The Coherent Laser SPAC in the LCLS RF Hut EIOC-IN20-RC13 will become EIOC-AS01-RF40.
The Gun SPAC EIOC-IN20-RC06 in LCLS RF Hut will become EIOC-AS01-RF41.
