The Atlantis event display is a java program which displays events reconstructed from ATLAS.http://www.hep.ucl.ac.uk/atlas/atlantis/
The project is to study simulated events and data events using the display, and to make improvements to the display:
- show additional information about the events (lepton isolation / quality / etc. , associations of leptons to detector cells/hits, etc.)
- show information more clearly (jets, MET, secondary vertices, etc.)
A nice use of the display would be to understand di-muon events in data and simulation, and understand how to select and classify interesting events (non-prompt J/Psi's ?).
Another option would be to focus on showing GEANT4 truth particles and energy deposits in the display alongside reconstructed detector hits...
